Kees Bouwmeester
Of-Counsel
Kees started his career at Dutch Tax Authorities/customs in 1972. He continued his career after more than twenty-seven years in 2000 as tax lawyer with Loyens & Loeff and after twenty years in 2020 he made the switch to Atlas.
He is widely specialized in customs, excises, car tax and environmental tax. He has extensive experience in the classification of goods in the Harmonised System, economic customs regimes, determination of the origin and customs value of goods, but he is also familiar with export controls, sanction measures and compliance.
Kees is experienced in conducting (administrative) appeal procedures at customs, regional courts and tax courts, Dutch Supreme Court and EU Court of Justice.
He accompanies and assists clients with compliance issues and voluntary disclosures of customs and tax declarations.
